The successful applicant is expected to work out of our Lassen District office located in Anderson, California .About the PositionImplement district reforestation program to effectively establish and manage conifer plantationsPrepare and administer contracts for reforestation activities including tree planting, vegetation management, site preparation and thinningInspect and monitor reforestation projects to evaluate field performance and recommend appropriate corrective actions as necessaryMaintain documentation, and district database of reforestation activitiesAssist in other forestry work on the district requiring demanding physical activityQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Natural Resources or equivalent related work experienceCalifornia Pest Control Advisors (PCA) license with weed and vertebrate categories or the ability to pass the PCA exam within one year is preferredKnowledge of reforestation activities and local forest types is preferredExcellent communication skills, self‑motivation and strong work ethicProficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and GIS‑based software programsAbility to navigate in mountainous areas using map and compass or GPSAbility to work both independently and as a team memberCurrent valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a four‑wheel drive vehicle and safely negotiate steep mountainous roadsWhy Join Our Team?Because this is more than an invitation, it's a commitment to offer opportunities for personal and professional growth to everyone!
