About the position

The Recycling Maintenance Specialist at Rumpke of Ohio, Inc. is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment within the recycling plant. This role involves inspecting, analyzing, and troubleshooting systems, performing regular maintenance, and addressing equipment breakdowns to maintain operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
• Track daily work performed via the TMT or SAP work tracking process.

• Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
,
• Continually monitor machinery and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation.
,
• Make minor repairs to equipment such as replacing bearings and return rollers.
,
• Perform typical repairs to the plant including gearbox, pulley, shaft, and belt replacement.
,
• Rebuild and replace shafts in the screeners.
,
• Perform lacing repairs to the belts throughout the plant.
,
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
,
• Complete all paperwork and/or electronic updates as required.
,
• Regularly use heavy industrial shop tools and equipment.
,
• Engage in professional interaction with internal and external customers.
,
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by promoting good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.

• Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.

Requirements
• Must be able to use metal working tools, mig welders, and torch sets.

• Must be able to lay out metal working projects.

• In-depth knowledge of system maintenance.

• Good time management skills.

• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas).

• Ability to work in a team and assist in plant repairs.

• Ability to be trained to operate mobile equipment such as fork trucks, man-lifts, and skid steer loaders.

• Ability to comprehend and follow LOTO policies and procedures.

• Must own the necessary hand tools to accomplish work at this level.

• Must wear required PPE.

• Must possess the decision-making ability to determine the level of hazard, proper PPE, and job planning to safely perform the task.
