MassMutual is seeking a Reconciliation and Exposure Data Analyst to manage financial exposure reporting and reconciliation processes in Connecticut. The role involves analyzing large data sets, collaborating with stakeholders, and presenting findings to senior leadership. Reconciliation and Exposure Data AnalystInvestment Operations, Investment ManagementFull-TimeBoston, MA or Springfield, MAThe OpportunityAs the ideal Reconciliation and Exposure Data Analyst, you will own the monthly execution and reconciliation of the financial exposure reporting process between the Trial Balance to cash match process and evaluate and prepare results exceeding predetermined thresholds for financial impact review by Investment Controllership.

You will understand how this data is compiled, transformed and processed, and be able to present Exposure to controllership, senior leadership and other stakeholders.

You will be supporting data requests and providing detailed analysis of large data sets. This work includes working with controllership and other stakeholders across the investment operations organization.

The nature of the work will require perseverance, accountability, and resourcefulness.The TeamThe Reconciliation and Exposure Data Analyst reports to the Director of Securities Data Management, part of the MassMutual Investment Operations team within the Investment Management division. The Securities Data Management team is agile and works independently, yet collaboratively with various teams across the enterprise.

To be successful, you must have strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.The Impact:Manage monthly reconciliation and financial exposure impact reporting process, including presentation of financial impact to Investment Controllership and other stakeholders across the Investment Operations organization.Lead root cause analysis and resolution of business investment data challenges demonstrating agility in managing multiple issues concurrently.Create and enhance scalable Excel spreadsheets, utilizing VLOOKUPs, macros, and complex formulas to streamline data analysis and reporting and efficiency.Understand the existing flows of data into the investment ecosystem including how data is sourced and aggregated to support the usage of investment data by all MassMutual stakeholders.Proficient with the monthly-close process including journal entry preparation, variance analysis, financial reporting, and the creation of financial models and impact studies to analyze business data.Partner with controllership team to ensure financial exposure thresholds breaks analysis and methodology is reflective of remediation efforts and initiatives.Communicate and collaborate with internal and external partners to implement new or changing data needs.Accountable for escalated and ongoing support for all users of data while ensuring appropriate documentation of processes is available and maintained.Represent the Investment Data Integrity team on various remediation projects, process improvement initiatives and complex research items.The Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience is required.7+ years of accounting experience with an understanding of financial exposure financial impact analysis.The Ideal QualificationsKnowledge of investment data accounting from ingestion of source data to end user reporting.Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, comfortable interacting with vendors, business partners, external managers and internal Investment and IT.Ability to work across multiple priorities with limited guidance.Ability to independently explore solutions to a problem and adapt quickly to changes.Collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team-based environment.
