Job Description

WestRock is seeking a Raw Materials Category Manager in Atlanta, GA, to develop and implement sourcing and procurement strategies for sustainable packaging solutions. The role involves analyzing market trends, negotiating with suppliers, managing relationships, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates should have experience in supplier management and a passion for sustainability. The position offers a salary of $80K–$120K and is a full-time role.

Develop and implement raw materials sourcing and procurement strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
Research and analyze market trends and industry developments to identify potential suppliers and materials that align with our sustainability goals.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure competitive and cost-effective raw material procurement.
Manage and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials and addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
Monitor and track raw materials inventory levels to ensure adequate supply and avoid production delays.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to ensure the use of the most suitable and sustainable materials for our products.
Stay informed and up-to-date on industry regulations and standards related to raw materials procurement and advise on potential impacts to the company.
Develop and maintain metrics to measure and report on the success and efficiency of raw materials sourcing and procurement strategies.
Continuously identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the raw materials category.
Train and mentor junior team members and provide guidance and support to other departments on raw materials selection and sourcing.
Represent the company at industry events and conferences to build relationships with potential suppliers and stay informed on industry developments.
