About the program:
We are looking for a RAMP Engineer to join the Urban Utilities Regional Treatment Plants (RTP) Program team.
John Holland with design partner GHD will deliver the RTP scope which involves a program of upgrades and renewal works to treatment plants, pipelines & pump stations in Ipswich, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, & the Scenic Rim.
About the role:
As an integral member of the UU Regional Treatment Plants Program and the Project Management Team, this role supports the successful delivery of Risk Adjusted Maximum Price (RAMP) through the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase.
The RAMP Engineer will report directly to the Project Manager and work collaboratively with the ECI team, providing technical support, managing risks, and contributing to the development and maintenance of the RAMP.
Responsibilities of the role include:
• Assist in leading the ECI team to achieve ‘first time’ ECI Expenditure Limit and RAMP approvals under the guidance of the Project Manager.
• Support the Project Manager in providing direction and managing workloads for the ECI team.
• Contribute to building, leading, and developing the capability of the ECI team in line with John Holland's values and culture.
• Help coordinate the creation of budget and schedule for each ECI and monitor progress, identifying and mitigating risks to meet expectations.
• Engage with stakeholders during the ECI phase, ensuring their requirements are considered in the RAMP.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, designers, vendors, and sub-contractors to ensure RAMP accuracy and viability.
• Support strong contract, commercial, and financial risk management practices, contributing to accurate cost and revenue forecasting.
• Assist in ensuring that the RAMP submission is in line with margin expectations and complies with John Holland and UU guidelines.
• Facilitate the post RAMP submission clarification process by assisting in coordinating responses to comments and managing timelines.
• Support the handover process from the ECI team to the delivery team post RAMP approval.
• Aid in program reporting as required and work under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Support the Project Manager in fostering a culture of high performance against KPIs.
• Solicit feedback on performance from UU and Project teams and assist in the review and reporting of ECI performance, including lessons learned.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and broader Program activities within the scope of the RAMP Engineer role.
• Perform all duties in accordance with JH policies, processes, systems, and procedures.
• Maintain compliance with responsibilities and accountabilities as per Program and specific project WHS, Environment, and Quality Plans.
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
• Minimum 5-10 years’ engineering experience
• Experience on >$10M Projects
• Project Engineer and operational experience
• Chartered Engineering Status and Diploma of Project Management advantageous
