Description:
Purpose of Position: At v2food, we build consumer brands in-house from the ground up to develop diverse products on a large scale. The focus of this role is to ensure quality adds value by putting our best foot forward with the products we have in the market to satisfy consumers hunger for protein and reduce our carbon footprint globally. By delivering food safety and quality, the Quality Assurance Technologist will build trust and brand loyalty through stakeholder relationships and product performance. A key focus is ensuring that quality adds value by getting it right the first time, ensuring challenges are shared and solved with new ways of working to improve efficiency and effectiveness for growth and manufacturing excellence.

Key Accountabilities:

Assist in maintaining the Quality Management System while continuously driving improvements and ensuring its alignment with industry standards.


Monitor results and analyse data to validate and verify the effectiveness of prerequisite programs and their implementation across processes.


Assess potential risks and collaborate with operations to ensure food safety and quality procedures are consistently followed, monitored, and effective.


Coordinate comprehensive sampling and testing programs, including product, cleaning, environmental monitoring, and water testing, to maintain food safety and quality.


Primary point of contact for external laboratories, ensuring effective communication and coordination of testing and analysis.


Implements and maintains an effective program for monitoring and managing retention samples.


Monitor consumer feedback daily, address non-conformances, investigate root causes, initiate corrective actions, and ensure proper documentation and resolution.


Manage and ensure the proper tracking and traceability of raw materials and finished goods to support transparency and compliance.


Oversee raw material quality, including conducting investigations into non-conformances and resolving any quality-related issues.


Review and assess process records and data to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.


Perform internal audits to assess compliance with established food safety and quality standards, ensuring corrective actions are implemented as needed.


Lead continuous improvement initiatives

Measures:

Effective Quality Management System to support the FMS operations


Product conformity with specifications for FMS-manufactured goods


Achieved agreed consumer feedback response time targets

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

Demonstrates a strong focus on ensuring quality and food safety in all processes.


High attention to details


Strong proficiency in root cause analysis and a systematic approach to solving complex problems.


Hands-on, operational mindset with experience in implementing practical solutions in dynamic environments.


Clear and concise verbal and written communication, with an open-minded approach to collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.


Consistently demonstrates a diligent and proactive approach to work, anticipating needs and addressing challenges in advance.


Skilled in managing multiple timelines, setting priorities, and maintaining motivation to achieve results.

Ability to work efficiently in cold environments without compromising performance.


Strong foundation in environmental monitoring and microbiology, with a keen understanding of its role in food safety.


Dedicated to ongoing improvement, with a curiosity-driven approach to enhancing processes and systems.


Highly skilled in meeting deadlines and analysing data.


Maintains a positive, can-do attitude with a strong focus on addressing challenges through innovative solutions

Skills and Experiences:

A degree or certification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.


Minimum of 4 + years of experience in the food industry or manufacturing, with a strong preference for experience handling high-risk food products.


Proven experience in overseeing, controlling, and maintaining a Quality Management System to ensure compliance with industry standards.


Demonstrated experience in HACCP validation and implementation.


Proven experience in Food Safety standards and FSANZ guidelines


Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-oriented mindset and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.


Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with a strong ability to manage and analyze data.
