The Gill Corporation is one of the world's largest manufacturers of honeycomb, high performance floor panels, cargo compartment liners and original equipment for passenger and freighter aircraft. The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products.

The Gill Corporation is seeking a Quality a QC Lab Technician I which is an entry-level function that supports technicians/engineers with complex tasks and performs sample preparation and basic testing/inspecting of products to ensure acceptability and functionality of manufactured goods, raw materials (for incoming inspection as well as recertifications), and other duties as assigned. The QC Lab Tech I uses various cutting equipment for sample preparation, including but not limited to table saw, drill press, router, band saw, shear, and other tools, and uses various test equipment to evaluate and record data onto inspection sheets. The position performs sample prep and testing based on established internal documents (i.e. GTP, GMS, GPS, and GWI).

Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, they will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including all safety protocols.
• Comprehend and ensure compliance with internal quality documents and customer specifications.
• Perform sample preparation and use various measuring tools to ensure specimens confirm to established internal documents.
• Perform basic material testing such as impact and flammability.
• Maintain office supplies.
• Use computer for basic tasks, including but not limited to:
• Finding and printing applicable test cover sheets
• Update already established Excel databases
• Scanning quality records (test data sheets, material certifications, etc)
• SQC data entry
• Use of SAP to look up production orders
• Use of Sharepoint for QC lab work flow
• Use of email to communicate within the company.
• Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming products for disposition.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance of various equipment (e.g. table saws).
• Perform basic cleanup of honeycomb plate shear steel blocks.
• Observe good housekeeping in performance of job duties. Understand the hazards associated with assigned work activity and abide by established procedures in handling and use of materials.

Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED and 1 years' experience in production/manufacturing.
• Basic computer knowledge (how to find and open files), and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Language Skills: English
• Mathematic Skills: Proficient in basic mathematics
• Ability to comfortably multitask with minimal supervision (after proper training).
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Acceptable Vision Test results (Quality inspection positions).
