Job Description

Messiah College is hiring a Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst I in Los Angeles, CA. The role involves evaluating utility applications, performing analyses, and providing recommendations on climate change policies. Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst I/PURA I Role Summary:
• Evaluate utility applications and Commission proposals
• Perform analyses, evaluate models
• Provide written or oral presentations and testimonies making recommendations on behalf of the Public Advocates Office

The incumbent will participate in evidentiary hearings before the Commission, workshops, Procurement Review Group meetings, California Independent System Operator and California Air Resources Board proceedings, and other forums.

Collaborate with team members on energy policy, analytical, and procurement review issues related to climate change policies.

This entry-level analyst role provides a breadth of experience in various energy policy areas, particularly climate change initiatives.

Job Requirements:

To be successful as an entry-level analyst, candidates should possess strong research and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities are also required.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Energy Policy, Environmental Science, or Economics
• 2+ years of work experience in a similar role
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality analysis and recommendations
• Strong knowledge of energy policy and climate change principles
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
