Salary: Grade 6 (£30,487 – £36,024 p.a. pro-rata depending on experience)

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Do you want to support the Yorkshire and Humber regional hub for the national Climate Ambassadors programme? Do you want to support local education settings to help them develop and deliver Climate Action Plans?

The Climate Ambassador programme was developed in partnership between the University of Reading, the EAUC and STEM Learning to harness the expertise of professionals working in climate research and policy to work with teachers and school leaders to improve climate education.

To expand and accelerate the Climate Ambassador programme, nine regional hubs have been established across England with the Yorkshire and Humber hub hosted by the University of Leeds. Each hub will engage education settings (nurseries and Early Years settings, schools, FE colleges and universities) in the programme, whilst also recruiting volunteer Climate Ambassadors to support education settings to develop Climate Action Plans. Climate Action Plans include action over: decarbonisation and energy efficiency; climate adaptation; biodiversity; climate education and green careers.

Please note that due to Home Office visa requirements, this role is not suitable for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants. Information on other visa options is available at: https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas

What We Offer In Return
• 26 days holiday plus approx.16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) – That’s 42 days a year!
• Generous pension scheme options plus life assurance
• Health and Wellbeing: Discounted staff membership options at The Edge, our state-of-the-art Campus gym, with a pool, sauna, climbing wall, cycle circuit, and sports halls.
