Job Description
Weston & Sampson is seeking a Climate Resiliency Project Manager for their Water Resources and Resiliency Group in Rocky Hill, CT. The role involves managing climate adaptation projects, supporting client and business development, coordinating technical teams, and engaging with the public. Candidates should have 8-15 years of relevant experience and strong communication skills. This is a full-time position based in the office.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Climate Resiliency Project Manager to join our Water Resources and Resiliency Group in our Rocky Hill, CT office. As a key member of our team, you will work alongside other project managers, engineers, and technical staff to foster the success of climate adaptation and resilience projects along the East Coast.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Supporting client development and business development activities, with a focus on local, state, and federal government clients.
• Managing projects and tasks in support of the development of climate resilience plans at a range of scales, from site-specific adaptation projects to regional resiliency action plans.
• Coordinating across technical teams to deliver a range of technical deliverables, including risk and vulnerability assessments, solution development and evaluation, and implementation planning.
• Supporting public outreach and engagement initiatives, including experience with building partnerships, consensus building, and/or dispute resolution.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• 8-15 years of professional experience with resiliency, planning, coastal management, engineering, or public engagement.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Geology, Climate Science, Environmental Studies, or related field.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment across multiple technical teams and regions.
• Experience with public speaking and the ability to represent our company at public hearings, workshops, and seminars.
• Able to handle flexible workload, diverse project files, and working well with multiple staff members.
• Prior experience with project, financial, and client management, as well as project and resource allocation scheduling and meeting facilitation.
