The Regional Municipality of Peel seeks a Project Manager for Stormwater Management in Daly City, CA. Reports to:
Manager, Transportation Development What you'll do:
Support the Manager, Transportation Development on the delivery of Divisional initiatives and organizational priorities in the area of stormwater management.
Project manage Environmental Assessments, Stormwater Management and Asset Management projects for both organizational initiatives and the Region's road program.
Ensure Environmental Assessments, Stormwater Management designs and Low Impact Development (LID) projects respect environmental principles and are in environmental compliance with all applicable legislation, regulation and policies.
Research, collect, evaluate and manipulate data and information to support recommendations relating to complex infrastructure and service problems and identify trends, anomalies and opportunities for improvement in the infrastructure systems.
Liaise with federal and provincial agencies and Conservation Authorities (MECP, TRCA, CVC, etc.).Assist with the negotiation of financing arrangements/partnerships including Memorandum of Understandings and obtaining Council approval(s), as required.
Manage and coordinate capital budget development for assigned projects.
Manage Stormwater Monitoring Program (lead consultant, keep records for Peel, pay invoices etc.) to ensure permitting conditions are met.
Complete reviews and provide comments on Stormwater plans from internal and external studies/reports such as EAs, land development applications, site plans, subdivision plans and servicing reports to ensure compliance with Regional Design Criteria;
Standards and Specifications and Systemwide ECA.Prepare and present to the public, council and stakeholders in various venues such as council meetings and public information meetings.
Promote an environment of continuous improvements and quality service.
What we require:
Degree in Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Physical Science, Landscape Architecture and/or, combined with 5 years of relevant experience. Preference would be for a P.Eng.
and understanding of hydraulic stormwater modeling principles, watershed and drainage principles, infrastructure servicing principles and understanding of infrastructure materials and specifications in Public stormwater functions/works and a solid understanding of stormwater industry infrastructure engineering principles and systems.
Knowledge of legislation, regulation and policies related to stormwater management and familiarity with stormwater infrastructure design and construction; operations and maintenance.
Experience in Low Impact Development (LID) solutions would be considered a major asset.
Experience and familiarity using ESRI GIS products.
Proficient computer skills including MS Office, GIS applications, and a clear understanding of hydraulic modelling analyses and modelling
knowledge of modelling software (ArcGIS, ARC Hydro, Info Works or similar)
