Job Description
Solar Provider Group is seeking a Project Manager for Solar PV Project Development with at least five years of experience. The role involves managing complex development portfolios, overseeing permitting, and engaging stakeholders. The position is hybrid for candidates in the Toronto area, allowing for a mix of in-office and remote work. Frequent travel across U.S. states is expected to visit project sites and collaborate with local communities.
About Solar Provider Group
Solar Provider Group (SPG) develops large-scale solar projects across North America and Europe. We identify suitable sites, secure land agreements, and manage permitting and regulatory approvals to bring projects to the point of construction. By working closely with landowners, communities, and industry partners, we ensure projects are well-positioned for success. With a deep understanding of market dynamics and regulatory frameworks in each region, our team navigates the complexities of solar development to create viable projects that support the expansion of renewable energy.
Why Consider a Role at SPG?
At SPG, you’ll join a motivated team with deep experience in renewable energy and project development. The role provides exposure to meaningful work that supports the energy transition, with opportunities to take ownership of projects across their full lifecycle. You’ll work across diverse regulatory environments and collaborate regularly with remote work opportunities and meaningful collaboration across locations.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Project Manager with at least five years of experience in solar PV development who can confidently lead projects from early-stage site evaluation through to construction readiness. You’ll be responsible for managing complex development portfolios, overseeing permitting, interconnection, and stakeholder engagement, and coordinating internal teams and external consultants. You have a strong grasp of the U.S. regulatory landscape, solid project management skills, and the ability to drive multiple projects forward—on time, on budget, and in compliance with all requirements.
This position is hybrid for candidates based in the Toronto area, with a mix of in-office and remote work. Our office is located in Liberty Village and provides a collaborative space for team interaction. Remote work arrangements may evolve over time based on company needs, with appropriate notice. Frequent travel across U.S. states to visit project sites and engage with local communities should be expected.

• Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns; monitoring and managing risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintaining a thorough understanding of eligible project incentives, potential revenue streams, and program rules to ensure effective implementation and compliance.
• Managing and reporting on project portfolio data, timelines, budgets, and deliverables using various tools; consistently maintaining and updating portfolio reports, budgets, and databases to support project- and portfolio-level analysis and development reporting.
• Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial modeling for evaluating solar PV project portfolios and advising on project financial feasibility.
• Cultivating relationships with local governments, permitting authorities, regulatory agencies across the US and Canada (e.g., USEPA, USFWS, Conservation Authorities), utilities, and other stakeholders to secure required permits and approvals.
• Managing consultants and project stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of all deliverables; conducting site visits and coordinating field staff and consultants.
