Company Overview

MDE Group is excited to partner with a leading renewable EPC contractor to find a talented Project Manager. This company focuses on delivering large-scale solar and energy storage projects across the UK, dedicated to advancing sustainability and supporting the UK's transition to cleaner energy solutions.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Project Manager specializing in solar energy to lead utility-scale renewable projects. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding organizational and detail-oriented skills, along with a proven history of successful project management in solar and energy storage sectors.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Manage the entire lifecycle of large-scale solar and energy storage projects from the readiness to build stage through to commissioning.
• Engage and collaborate with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless project execution.
• Oversee grid connection processes, coordinating with National Grid and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) when included in contracts.
• Plan and manage logistics and resources efficiently for successful project delivery.
• Assist procurement teams in contractor selection, manage EPC contracts, and supervise on-site construction activities.
• Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and provide financial reports to the project finance team.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local communities, contractors, and regulatory authorities.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects (ideally 30 MW+).
• Knowledge of grid connection processes, including G99 and TEC.
• Strong skills in logistics and resource planning for large-scale projects.
• Hands-on experience in managing EPC and contractor relationships.
• Expertise in overseeing large CAPEX budgets.
• Thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the renewable sector.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
