Haley & Aldrich is seeking a Project Manager, Environmental Scientist/Engineer for its Honolulu, HI office. The role involves collaborating on environmental compliance projects, conducting inspections, preparing reports, and managing project aspects. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree, 8-10 years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. The position requires travel between islands and focuses on regulatory compliance in Hawaii.

We are currently seeking a Project Manager, Environmental Scientist/Engineer to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Honolulu, HI or Maui, HI office.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
• Work collaboratively on all aspects of our work in Hawaii to address client goals and objectives, with a primary focus on:
• Consulting support for multi-media compliance under NPDES, UIC, Clean Water Act, State Cleanup Program (HEER Office), RCRA, and other regulatory programs.
• Conduct facility and construction site compliance inspections.
• Prepare proposals, project reports/deliverables, and regulatory compliance submissions.
• Have a minimum of five years of experience with State of Hawaii regulatory programs.
• Have experience conducting site investigations to delineate the extent of contamination in soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and soil gas, including Phase I/Phase II environmental assessments.
• Be capable of fully managing financial, technical, and regulatory aspects of projects.
• Execute projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary, and scheduling requirements.
• Demonstrate very strong verbal communications and written skills including client and regulatory deliverables.
• Be effective in assigning and managing work.
• Demonstrate strong coaching and mentoring skills to junior level staff.
• Possess skills in quality control, planning, cost estimating, and scheduling.
• Direct environmental field observation and testing programs.
• Develop a working understanding of H&As other consulting practice areas and actively support marketing other services to existing clients.
• Perform all work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols.
• Be able to travel inter-island on a periodic basis.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of Bachelor of Science in civil or environmental engineering, geology/hydrogeology, environmental science, or related field; Masters degree desired.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in environmental compliance and/or investigation/remediation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to technical details.
• Strong computer literacy skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe or Blue Beam.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient at writing, reviewing, and editing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates preferred; strong personal commitment to safety.
• Ability to comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Handbook.

The salary range for this position in Honolulu, HI or Maui, HI is $105,000 - $115,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market.
