Position Overview

Our client is seeking a high-caliber Project Manager to lead the execution of commercial solar and energy storage construction projects across Iowa and the Midwest.

This role requires full ownership of project delivery from pre-construction handoff through commissioning and closeout.

This is not a coordination role.

The ideal candidate understands construction from the field up and can simultaneously protect schedule, margin, quality, and safety while managing subcontractors, procurement, and project stakeholders.

This is a leadership position for someone who thrives in disciplined EPC environments and takes pride in delivering complex renewable energy infrastructure successfully.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead full lifecycle delivery of commercial solar and battery energy storage projects
• Own project budgets, forecasting, and margin protection
• Develop and manage detailed project schedules and critical path milestones
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews to ensure performance standards
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and construction documentation
• Oversee procurement and equipment logistics coordination
• Coordinate with utilities, AHJs, engineering teams, and development stakeholders
• Conduct site visits and maintain strong QA/QC standards
• Drive a proactive safety culture aligned with OSHA and company protocols
• Provide disciplined reporting to executive leadership on project performance

Required Qualifications
• 5–10+ years of construction project management experience
• 3+ years managing commercial solar or solar + storage projects
• Proven success delivering rooftop, ground-mount, canopy, or distributed generation systems
• Experience managing projects in the 500 kW – 10+ MW range preferred
• Demonstrated budget ownership and financial accountability
• Strong understanding of NEC and solar construction sequencing
• Experience leading subcontractors and field teams
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Procore, MS Project, or Primavera
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Electrical background preferred

Military or veteran experience highly valued
