Job Description

Taylor Hopkinson is seeking a Renewable Energy Finance Specialist in Edmonton, Canada. The role involves leading financing for solar assets, collaborating with the Development team, analyzing bank offers, and developing financial models. Candidates should have 7+ years of experience in structured finance, especially in renewables, and possess strong investment appraisal skills. A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration is required. This is a full-time position.
We are looking for an exceptional Renewable Energy Finance Specialist to join our team in Calgary, Canada.
About the Role:
• Lead the financing process of solar assets in Alberta and other key markets in Canada and North America.
• Collaborate with the Development team to drive the financing process forward in line with project timelines.
• Analyze Bank offers and Term Sheets to optimize financial structures, including IRS Hedging.
• Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate debt funding, returns, and sensitivity analysis.
• Prepare detailed presentations, reports, and memorandums for senior stakeholders.
• Evaluate project documents (EPC, O&M, PPA) to assess bankability and identify areas for improvement.
• C coordinate with external advisors and ensure due diligence is completed efficiently.
• Drive deal execution, including financial close process, CPs satisfaction, and drawdowns.
• Oversee Finance Documents, compliance reports, undertakings reporting, and waiver process.
• Publish regular internal Reports.
About You:
• You hold 7+ years' experience in structure finance, preferably in a Canadian bank, advisory firm, or large organization.
• Familiarity with renewables non-recourse financing processes.
• Proficient in loan structuring, including project financing documentation, due diligence, and financial close process.
• Strong investment appraisal & credit analysis skills.
• A thorough understanding of legal and accounting principles of non-recourse financing.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration; a Master's degree in a related field is beneficial.
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and functions, managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Expertise in MS Office toolset, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
