We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Project Environmental Scientist to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a part-time position located in our Boston, MA office.

Duties/Responsibilities

In this position, you will:
• Split time and responsibilities between field assignments and office assignments.
• Lead portions of technical project work from project scoping through final deliverables under the direction of senior staff.
• Apply academic and industry knowledge as well as learnings from prior work experience to execute project work.
• Provide training, guidance, and informal mentoring to junior staff on their projects and within your technical discipline.
• Under the direction of senior staff, participate in communications with client, agencies, and internal teams within your discipline.
• Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of activities both in the field and during data evaluation.
• Lead project environmental data reduction, technical evaluation, and summarization tasks.
• Prepare project feasibility studies, remedial designs, cost estimates, and permit applications.
• Perform all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
• Demonstrate the company’s foundational safety behaviors.

Skills/Experience

Minimum Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• 4+ years of related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient at writing technical reports to meet project requirements.
• Able to work independently on individual tasks supporting technical work and exhibit the ability to manage tasks and perform work on multiple projects or multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Desire to learn and grow in your profession, demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, and ownership.
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position: lift 50 lbs., traverse unstable/sloping sites and landscapes, work outside in a range of weather conditions, and have the stamina for moderate physical activity for the majority of field working hours.
• Able to travel to work locations that may require overnight stays.

Preferred Skills
• Experience in environmental analytical testing and data reduction techniques for soil, water, and air.
• Experience with soil, groundwater, and air treatment technologies.
• OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training.
