Transportation Engineer Opportunity

At Clark Dietz, we are a multidiscipline engineering firm dedicated to delivering sustainable solutions that improve the quality of life for our communities.

We have an opening for an experienced transportation engineer to join our New Albany, IN office. This position will collaborate with our staff to plan, design and manage transportation projects located in Indiana.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and contribute to the development of plans and design elements for roadway/trail improvement projects for INDOT and LPA clients throughout Indiana.
• Oversee and perform design calculations and quality control for roadway/trail geometrics, hydraulics, MOT, and quantity calculations.
• Develop or review construction cost estimates.
• Coordinate project workflow and delegate tasks to engineers and technicians.
• Manage compliance with scope, schedule, and budget on assigned projects.
• Prepare monthly billing directions for their projects.
• Implement quality assurance and control procedures to ensure quality in all deliverables.
• Collaborate with Client Relations and Marketing staff to identify project opportunities.
• Lead or assist in the development of proposals, project approach and scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.
• Interact with clients to understand project objectives, constraints and deliverables
Requirements:
• B.S Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in transportation projects and Indiana PE required.
• 8+ years of progressive experience as a project engineer is required.
• Experience delegating tasks to Engineers and Technicians
• Roadway design experience for INDOT and/or LPA projects required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the INDOT Design Manual, INDOT Standards, INDOT project development process, permitting and environmental requirements required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to represent the firm with clients and partners and lead or participate in presentations and public meetings.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work as part of a team across multiple offices.
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks on time and within budget while delivering high value to our clients.
• Previous experience with one or more of the following software tools required; ORD, MicroStation V8i, GEOPAK,.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel) required.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to client meetings and project sites as needed.
