Position Title and Purpose

We seek a Project Engineer to oversee commercial and utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects from development to pre-construction. The role involves ensuring projects are handed off correctly, on time, and within budget, working closely with Project Management for successful project completion.
Salary

The salary range is $80,000 to $110,000 USD, commensurate with experience and education. An annual bonus target of 5% of base salary is awarded based on organizational and individual goals.
Major Responsibilities
• Communicate effectively with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to clarify project goals.
• Manage project budgets and schedules from inception to handoff, aiming for 100% customer satisfaction.
• Identify and qualify engineering design firms to expand approved subcontractors.
• Perform risk analysis and forecasting to mitigate negative impacts.
• Optimize delivery milestones to reduce costs.
• Negotiate with subcontractors for efficient project execution.
• Manage design and development of solar projects of various sizes, following company procedures.
• Utilize project management tools, including scheduling and financial reporting.
• Handle all financial aspects of projects, including budgeting and change mitigation.
• Address client and subcontractor concerns promptly.
• Lead meetings to drive project progress.
• Coordinate with utilities for interconnection and studies.
• Work with local authorities for zoning and permits.
• Prepare and update project schedules, analyze delays, and document impacts.
• Monitor subcontractor productivity and implement corrective actions.
• Identify project impacts, notify stakeholders, and document claims.
• Solve problems proactively, analyze root causes, and develop solutions.
• Manage complex project concepts for successful outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational and Certification Requirements
• Valid State Driver's License.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering/construction or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years relevant experience, preferably in construction environments.
• Experience with design and construction software (AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, etc.).
• OSHA 30 certification and PMP preferred.
Work Environment
• Up to 20% travel, including overnight stays, supported by covered expenses and per diem.
• Construction site work up to 20%, with outdoor hazards.
• Office work 80-90%, with standard equipment.
