About the position

The Project Director for Climate Resiliency Programs at Long Beach City College is responsible for overseeing the administration and implementation of grant-funded initiatives aimed at addressing workforce needs in the climate sector. This role involves managing clean energy training programs, facilitating skills training, and ensuring job placement for participants. The incumbent will work closely with various stakeholders to promote effective program execution and will have a significant degree of administrative discretion in their responsibilities.

Responsibilities
• Administer and implement workforce development grants and special projects related to climate resiliency and clean energy.

• Identify workforce needs and gaps to facilitate skills training and job placement programs.

• Provide administrative and grant management coordination on program activities.

• Manage and administer District-wide clean energy training programs and services.

• Build rapport with internal and external stakeholders across the District.

• Lead a diverse team and ensure exceptional customer service.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, public policy, urban planning, or a related field.

• Five years of experience in project management in the climate sector, with at least one year in a supervisory or lead capacity.

• Master's degree preferred.

• Valid California driver's license and ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
