Job Description

Taylor Hopkinson is seeking a Project Development Manager for solar power and renewables in Melbourne, Australia. The role involves identifying projects, managing budgets, stakeholder relationships, and overseeing permitting and environmental studies. Candidates should have a relevant degree and strong project development experience in the green energy sector. The position requires effective communication skills and the ability to travel.
Opportunity to join global leading renewable energy investor and developer company, as Project Development Manager, Senior Project Development Manager, based on experience.

You will be based in Melbourne as the team is there.

Energy : Solar / BESS/ Wind

Role:

1. Identify prospective projects with suitable resource, electric transmission access, and site characteristics

2. Create and manage project development budgets and estimates

3. Establish and manage relationships with stakeholders, including elected officials, regulators, utilities

4. Negotiation and manage of Developer´s Contracts

5. Work with internal resources, such as the Legal, Engineering, Project Finance and EPC teams

6. Obtain land surface rights to design, permit, construct, operate, and maintain solar power projects

7. Manage state, federal, and regional permitting of solar facilities

8. Participate in interconnection agreement negotiations

9. Manage environmental studies

10. Oversee the preparation of proposals that are submitted to utilities

11. Support the financial analysis and modeling of the project

12. Provide reports to management by producing regular and frequent pipeline updates, project status updates, and other reporting documents

13. Research energy market and competition on an ongoing basis

14. Communicate information continuously and effectively to cross-functional team

Our Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Laws, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

2. Strong project development experience in the green energy industry.

3. Team player with effective communication skills.

4. Pro-active, hands-on and driven.

5. Previous experience in a multi-cultural environment preferred.

6. English fluency required.

7. Willing and able to travel
