About the position
As a Project Community/Urban Planner at Olsson, you will be responsible for managing small-to-medium sized projects that focus on community improvement and urban planning. This role requires a mastery of specialized techniques to address unforeseen challenges and involves collaboration with various stakeholders to develop comprehensive plans and facilitate public meetings. You will also supervise other planners and contribute to business development efforts.
Responsibilities
• Develop community master plans, comprehensive plans, and strategic plans.

• Facilitate public meetings and conduct technical research.

• Prepare design and contract documents and handle contract administration for planning projects.

• Complete management tasks including the development of the project's scope of work, schedule, and initial paperwork.

• Assist with budget reviews and schedule progress reports.

• Coordinate with clients and attend client meetings.

• Assist with marketing/business development and help write proposals.

• Serve as project manager on small to medium projects.

• Train others on more complex work.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in urban planning, architecture, public policy, or a related area of study.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in planning or a closely related field.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Strong project management skills.

• Proven track record in winning projects and providing excellent client service.

• Adept in verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
