Falcon Green is hiring a Project Architect in Reading, UK, to lead design processes for complex infrastructure projects within a long-term MOD framework. Delivering Complex Infrastructure Projects
Falcon Green is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team on a long-term MOD framework project. The successful candidate will lead the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery, ensuring design outputs meet project specifications, programme milestones, and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Leading the design process: The Design Manager will lead the design process, coordinating internal and external design consultants, architects, and specialist subcontractors.
• Coordinating internal and external teams: They will ensure design outputs meet project specifications, programme milestones, and technical requirements.
• Managing design approvals: The successful candidate will manage design approvals and facilitate design reviews with client and stakeholder teams.
• Identifying and mitigating design risks: They will identify and mitigate design risks early in the process, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Supporting value engineering and buildability reviews: The successful candidate will support value engineering and buildability reviews in collaboration with delivery teams.
Requirements
• Previous experience: A proven track record as a Design Manager on major construction projects, preferably within MOD or government frameworks.
• Strong technical understanding: A strong technical understanding of both new build (steel/RC frame) and refurbishment works.
• Ability to manage multiple design packages: The ability to manage multiple design packages and interface with various disciplines.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills: Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software: Proficiency in relevant design and document management software.
• Eligibility for security clearance: Eligibility for security clearance is essential.
