Job Description

The Network for Certification and Conservation of Forests is seeking a Program Officer for GIS/Carbon Projects in Noida, India. Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in Natural Resource Management or related fields, with skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication. Responsibilities include network development, project oversight, business development, and capacity building. The position requires some travel and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

Post Graduate or equivalent in Natural Resource Management/Forestry/ Biodiversity/Environment Management/Climate Change/Sustainability

Education Background in GIS, Remote Sensing or Carbon Project would

Reports to: Program Manager

Experience :- 0-4 years’ work experience, Work Experience with certification schemes will be added advantage , Work Experience with GIS and C-project would be preferred

Skills:-
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Quick learning aptitude
• Good documentation/drafting skills
• Ability to work under stringent timelines

Key Responsibilities/Roles

1. Network Development & Partnership Building
• Build and expand a robust network of professional contacts, including clients, consulting firms, and individual experts.
• Pursue partnership opportunities to support programme objectives.

2. Project Management & Delivery Oversight
• Contribute for the end-to-end management of projects, including planning, implementation, monitoring, documentation, and reporting.
• Ensure high-quality delivery aligned with project goals and timelines.

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination
• Identify and organize stakeholder consultations based on programme needs.
• Liaise effectively with key actors including government bodies, industries, certification and accreditation bodies.

4. Deliverables & Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Ensure timely execution of program in accordance with defined action plans and KPIs.
• Monitor progress and ensure alignment with expected outcomes and organizational goals.

5. Industry & Government Collaboration
• Cultivate partnerships with industries relevant to assigned certification scheme, program or project
• Engage with concerned Govt. department and ministries to advance the objectives of assigned scheme, program or project.

6. Business Development & Proposal Writing
• Assist the team lead in business development initiatives including the preparation of concept notes, detailed proposals, and partnership models.
• Assist to identify market opportunities and contribute to growth strategies for certification services.

7. Capacity Building & Outreach
• Organize and facilitate workshops, webinars, training sessions, and stakeholder meetings in line with the strategic action plan.
• Support knowledge dissemination and awareness building among key audiences.

8. Program Coordination & Strategic Execution
• Coordinate and track the implementation of assigned programs, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to drive program success.

9. Representation & Advocacy
• Represent the organization at relevant events, conferences, and meetings to advocate programme objectives and build visibility.

10. Proposal Development & Organizational Reporting
• Contribute actively to program and grant proposal development, annual planning, and strategic reporting.

11. Travel & Flexibility
• Willingness to travel as required for stakeholder engagement, field activities, and business development.

12. Additional Responsibilities
• Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the line manager or senior management, as required to support organizational goals.
