Program Manager, Sustainability

Amazon is hiring a Program Manager for Sustainability to lead carbon reduction and sustainable technology initiatives in the AMET region, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Türkiye, and South Africa. The role involves collaborating with local and global teams to achieve sustainability goals, requiring experience in low-carbon technologies and project management. Amazon is looking for a Program Manager to drive carbon reduction and sustainable technology deployment across our operations, as part of our Africa, Middle East and Türkiye (AMET) Sustainability team. This role can be based in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Türkiye or South Africa.

You will develop and implement a plan alongside local and global operations leaders and partner teams to deliver strong year-on-year progress toward Amazon's commitments set out in the Climate Pledge.

The ideal candidate has experience working with zero/low-carbon technologies and a proven track record of leading successful sustainability projects, and/or relevant experience in logistics, last mile, fulfilment or FMCG operations. Familiarity with the AMET region, vendor management and delivering change in organizations are an advantage.

Additionally, this candidate has the ability to think strategically, navigate complex and ambiguous challenges, manage large-scale projects across different technologies and stakeholder groups, and collaborate and influence effectively. Strong written and verbal communications skills, an eagerness to learn and develop, and flexibility to work with multiple teams in different locations are essential.

### Key job responsibilities
- Develop and execute plans to drive technology deployment and improvement in operational metrics toward short- and long-term sustainability goals.
- Guide operational teams on how to reduce emissions, plan their budgets, and secure resources for decarbonization.
- Develop and implement investments in zero/low-technologies in the AMET region.
- Engage in public-private partnerships and industry coalitions to unlock innovative solutions. Partner with Public Policy teams to identify key policy opportunities to accelerate zero/low-carbon technology adoption
- Drive broad engagement among leaders and Amazon colleagues at all levels to influence decision-making and daily behaviors toward sustainability goals.

Amazon AMET (Africa, Middle East and Türkiye) Operations is a diverse, inclusive team delighting customers by delivering global selection with the best locally relevant experience. Our team sets the AMET regional sustainability strategy and works to deliver measurable year-on-year progress toward our long-term sustainability goals, in partnership with operations leaders and related teams, working closely with global and other regional sustainability leaders.

### Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

### Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
