Job Description

Google is seeking a Program Manager III for Energy and Climate Advocacy in Canada. The role involves leading foresight analysis, tracking net-zero frameworks, and building relationships with stakeholders to shape Google's climate strategy. Responsibilities include long-term advocacy design and internal coordination across various teams. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and conduct foresight analysis by exploring trends in energy and climate, organizing scenario planning sessions, and synthesizing insights to shape Google’s climate strategy and policy stance.
• Track the development of net-zero frameworks and emissions standards (e.g., SBTi, GHGP), as well as voluntary carbon markets, to assess their potential impact on Google’s energy and climate goals.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including NGOs, academic institutions, and industry experts, to validate and refine Google’s climate advocacy initiatives.
• Design and drive long-term advocacy efforts focused on energy and climate priorities that showcase Google’s leadership and encourage broader organizational commitments.
• Coordinate with internal teams across sustainability, energy, operations, marketing, communications, and policy to ensure unified messaging and external engagement on climate issues.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in program or project management.
• Background in sustainability, energy, or climate change-related work.

Preferred Qualifications:
• At least 5 years managing cross-functional or cross-departmental initiatives.
• Strong communication skills with experience presenting to executives, peers, and teams.
• Familiarity with global sustainability priorities and regional climate strategies.
• Proven ability to collaborate across diverse teams to launch and grow new initiatives.
