The Sherman County Soil and Water Conservation District is hiring a full-time Program Assistant in Moro, OR. The role involves clerical duties, grant management, and outreach related to soil and water conservation. Do you enjoy working on a small team where you can make a big impact? If so, then consider launching your career with us! The Sherman County Soil and Water Conservation District is looking for a hardworking, motivated individual to join our staff as a Program Assistant.
The Program Assistant is responsible for providing support in a variety of ways. Responsibilities include clerical duties, grant management, outreach and education along with providing NRCS with programmatic technical and clerical assistance on Farm Bill programs. In this position, you will work independently with minimal supervision and be responsible for prioritizing daily work tasks and scheduling field work and meetings. The position is located in Moro, Oregon and will work throughout Sherman County.
This is the perfect role for you if you enjoy office work along with field visits. You will gain experience and training and work in a variety of job conditions ranging from local travel, fieldwork in the summer and winter months, to work on-site at our office. A valid driver’s license is required.
Other required job skills:
• Computer skills with Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Problem-solving ability with diverse groups of people
• Advanced written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of farming and ranching practices is essential
Education in any agriculture or natural resources field is beneficial along with a desire to work in rural Oregon.
The Program Assistant position is full-time with a pay range of $19.39- $24.00 per hour depending on experience.
