About the position

The School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) at the University of Michigan is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member in Sustainable Development Economics. This position focuses on development economics and policy analysis, particularly in relation to environmental and sustainability challenges. The successful candidate will support teaching and advising in the Sustainability and Development Specialization, engaging in interdisciplinary scholarship and collaboration to address real-world issues in various topical areas such as food systems, health, and climate change.

Responsibilities
• Develop a widely recognized research program that attracts external funding.

• Support SEAS' teaching mission at both graduate and undergraduate levels, including mentoring and supervising doctoral and master's students.

• Lead master's case-based projects and contribute to the stewardship of SEAS, the University, and relevant professions through service and engagement.

Requirements
• Ph.D. in economics, applied economics, political science, public policy, sustainability sciences, geography, or a related field.

• Strong record of scholarly publication.
,
• Evidence of teaching potential in a multidisciplinary setting.
,
• Experience with policy and/or stakeholder engagement.
,
• Demonstrated potential for national and international recognition.
