Job Description
Stryten Energy is hiring a Production Scheduler for its Salina, KS factory, a major lead-acid battery manufacturing site. The role involves preparing and adjusting production schedules, ensuring material availability, and collaborating with corporate schedulers. Candidates should have an associate's degree or equivalent experience, strong math and computer skills, and excellent communication abilities. The position requires physical presence at the plant and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Overview
The Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead-acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries can be found in your car, in your boat or RV, or, in your lawn and garden equipment. Stryten proudly supports the local community by regularly participating in Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and providing more than 100 volunteers for the Smoky Hill River Festival.
The Production Scheduler will prepare production schedules for the manufacture of product. Coordinates actual production for several departments against scheduled production and alters to meet unforeseen conditions to insure maximum use of available capacity for finished product and the need for materials and labor.
Our plant is located in Salina, KS but we have employees that live in our neighboring towns such as Concordia, Ellsworth, Herrington and McPherson.
Responsibilities
• Schedule all shop floor operations in compliance with the Master Production Schedule.
• Assure adequate supplies of purchased and/or manufactured materials are on hand to support the shop floor with a workable and fluid schedule.
• Interact with corporate scheduling personnel to assure the Master Production Schedule is within manufacturing capacity.
• Adjust schedules to provide expedient build of any product shortages reported by Distribution and coordinate same with Corporate schedulers.
• Maintain files on bills of materials, assembly specifications, and tooling requirements.
• Comply with all plant policies and procedures.
• Follow Lean Manufacturing Procedures.
• Comply with current Quality Systems Requirements.
• Work closely with Department Managers to ensure correct production requirements are produced in a timely manner.
• Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, Skills Required:
• Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Good math and computer skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively conduct training and interact with all personnel.
• APIC’s CPIM Certification preferred
• Excellent computer skills -specifically to include Excell spreadsheets (spreadsheet creation, formulas, and analysis)
Physical Requirements
• Walking, Standing, Sitting as necessary
