Job Description

Frog Song Organics, LLC is hiring a Box Truck Delivery Driver for part-time or full-time work in Hawthorne, FL. The role involves delivering products and working in production/maintenance on-site. Compensation ranges from $15 to $17 per hour. Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, and skilled communicators. Duties include packing items, managing inventory, and providing customer service. The position requires physical labor and the ability to drive large vehicles.
Box Truck Delivery Driver with Production (Packing Shed) - Part Time or Full Time
Hawthorne, FL

One to two days doing delivery routes in addition to at least one day per week on site at the farm doing Production or Maintenance

Training Rate: $15.00
Compensation before training: $16-$17.00
• Rate for Production, Driver and Maintenance differs

Start Times range from 3:00 am - 7:30 am
End Times range from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Delivery Routes Available
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays

Our farm produces healthy food for individuals at farmers markets, grocery stores, and the best restaurants throughout Northern and Central Florida. This position helps the farm by loading and delivering products from the farm to customers throughout North and Central Florida.

This position utilizes skills in driving large vehicles with trailers, completing inventory, and managing the logistics of a delivery route. Our current delivery routes are on
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays. Applicants will not need to be available for all of these shifts. This position can be combined with the Production Team, Farmers

Market and/or Maintenance teams to achieve full time hours.

Job Duties for Box Truck Delivery Driver

● Pack items and drive with care to ensure products arrive in good condition.
● Load boxes and bins by hand into box truck and trailers

● Inventory using the Load List and ensure all products are accounted for
● Communicate with Production Team and Office Staff to resolve any errors or missing items
● Document inventory and keep written and digital logs
● Provide excellent customer service to everyone regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation or identity, national origin
● Report errors, accidents, etc immediately to managers
● Use a smartphone routing app called Routific
● Lift at least 50 pounds and climb into the box truck regularly
● Pay attention to details and report when inconsistencies are found
● Perform preventative maintenance checks including fluids, tire pressure and belts, observe vehicle functions and report any issues
● Communicate professionally and courteously with other staff and customers
● Unload and clean truck at the end of each shift

Job Duties for Packing Shed
• Wash bins and load trucks
• Work quickly and accurately with your hands
• Clean and pack vegetables and other products according to specifications
• Demonstrate an attention to detail in all work capacities (training, record keeping, communication)
• Effectively and quickly do hand labor, including working safely with knives and clippers as needed - fine motor skills needed
• Prepare and pace themselves to work outdoors including proper clothing (hats), hydration, nutrition and rest
• Be a team player and willing to work together to get the job done
• Demonstrate capacity to use a tablet, computer or smartphone for digital record keeping and accurately enter numbers on a spreadsheet.
• Use scale and complete basic math
• Communicate with team members to solve problems
• Record work digitally using a tablet or computer onsite

Requirements

● Pass background check
● Demonstrated Seven Year Safe Driving Record (Pass a MVR check)
● Positive attitude and friendly demeanor, be a team player
● Non-tobacco user, no smoking on site or in vehicles or while on the clock
● Must provide two positive reviews from professional references
● Motivated to do an efficient, high-quality job
● Interest in cooking and/or organic farming
● Interest in helping to create an alternative to the industrial food system and supplying people in your community with healthy food

● 40 hours per year paid sick leave to care for yourself or a family member/loved one for full time (part time workers receive pro-rated sick leave)

● Unpaid vacation in the fall or winter is negotiable, in coordination with other staff.

The first day of orientation for any position will be a work-trade.
Orientation will be a work/trade 5-6 hour day, with the goals of food safety training, orientation, cleaning/organizing, and introduction to our system. We will compensate with an abundant box of produce, eggs, meat, and/or value added items for this first work/trade day.
