About the Team
The Product Strategy Team play a crucial role in delivering customer-centric products for our retail business. They are responsible for owning product roadmaps and managing the entire product lifecycle, from new product development through to end-of-life, ensuring all products comply with relevant consumer regulations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Product Strategy Leader, the Product Lead is accountable for ensuring we bring together customer research, insights, business data and energy regulation to ensure that we develop and maintain customer centric products that align with customer strategy and customer value proposition outcomes. Other aspects of the role include:
• Drive the product lifecycle from ideation to launch and iteration, ensuring alignment with a clear strategic vision
• Collaborate with pricing, strategy, and retail teams to maximise profitability
• Champion regulatory adherence, especially around consumer protection and data privacy
• Lead effective engagement across the business, from senior leadership to frontline teams, as well as with external stakeholders like regulators, fostering alignment, trust, and transparency
• Build compelling business cases to support development and management decisions
• Design products that balance flexibility with consistency, and ensure performance is tracked across engagement, lifecycle, and profitability metrics
About You
To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in product management and development roles. With a strong understanding of how to lead the development of customer centric products. Other things we’re keen on include:
• A proactive, outcomes-driven professional with a strong focus on continuous improvement
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate teams and align cross-functional efforts
• Ability to communicate complex data clearly and persuasively, turning insights into action
• Comfortable managing competing priorities and solving ambiguous problems with a conceptual and lateral approach
• Skilled at juggling multiple projects while maintaining focus on strategic goals and deadlines
• Demonstrated success in leading customer-centric product initiatives that balance user outcomes with long-term commercial viability
