Procurement Manager – Renewable Energy

RPO Recruitment is hiring a Procurement Manager for a client in the renewable energy sector in Cape Town, South Africa. The role involves developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with project requirements. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree, 7 years of procurement experience, and knowledge of renewable energy. The position offers a competitive salary of R750K to R816K per year.
RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to join our client’s team in the renewable energy industry. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to support our client’s renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities
• Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services for renewable energy projects
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery
• Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and align procurement processes with project timelines and budgets
• Monitor and track procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules, to ensure compliance with project requirements and organizational policies
• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, technologies, and suppliers in the renewable energy industry
• Develop and maintain a database of pre-qualified suppliers and contractors
• Manage supplier performance and address any issues or concerns that may arise
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procurement policies
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the renewable energy industry
• Proven track record of successfully managing procurement processes and achieving cost savings
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and industry trends
• Experience in managing supplier relationships and performance
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the renewable energy industry

Benefits
• Salary: R750K/yr – R816K/yr, negotiable
