About the position

The Procurement Manager at Primoris Renewable Energy is responsible for ensuring the company is competitively positioned in the Utility Scale PV Market. This role involves establishing relationships with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, overseeing the procurement process, and leading a team of purchasing agents and buyers. The manager will also be tasked with maintaining quality materials for construction, improving procurement processes, and negotiating contracts to enhance the company's market position.

Responsibilities
• Ensure quality material and equipment is available to the construction team when and where needed.

• Establish, maintain, and improve procurement systems and processes.
,
• Lead the purchasing of major material commodity scopes including Inverters, Transformers, and DC collection.

• Create long-term partnerships with the supply chain based on transparency, responsibility, and ethics.
,
• Gather and analyze industry and market data.
,
• Monitor and improve overall performance of the procurement team according to company policies and KPIs.
,
• Host quarterly Commodity Reviews to highlight key market and vendor opportunities and constraints.
,
• Maintain Vendor Scorecard for feedback to and from the supplier network.
,
• Facilitate the growth and learning of the procurement team.
,
• Qualify and select suppliers and improve overall performance.
,
• Lead purchasing agents and buyers in building relationships, negotiating, and managing supplier contracts.
,
• Monitor purchasing activities and product delivery to align with engineering and construction methods.
,
• Negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers.
,
• Build relationships with project teams to understand equipment and materials performance.
,
• Work with the legal group to develop industry-appropriate contracts.
,
• Negotiate outcomes for defects and delivery problems with suppliers.
,
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, warehouse, and engineering for scheduling and movement of goods.
,
• Maintain supplier performance KPIs and work towards continual improvement.
,
• Collaborate with the Logistics Manager for the utilization of excess material.

Requirements
• BS Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
,
• 10+ years of experience in Procurement.
,
• Experience in Solar, Renewable Energy, Construction, or Power Generation preferred.
,
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) is required.
,
• Experience and skill with SAP & Viewpoint preferred.
,
• Proficient in development and adherence to procurement procedures and plans.
,
• Possess negotiation and team building skills.
,
• Ability to multi-task and support multiple clients daily.
,
• Ability to travel as needed (approximately 10-20%).
