Job Description

The Senior Manager, Network & Energy Cost Management is responsible for leading the Network and Energy Cost Management team, focusing on Invoice Auditing and Dispute Resolution. This team analyzes, submits, and resolves disputes related to Network and Energy expense invoices, ensuring compliance with all applicable contracts, tariffs, agreements, or service requests. The team also seeks opportunities to reduce ongoing expenses through optimization or contractual guidance and collaborates with carriers/utilities and internal departments to develop greater efficiencies, accuracies, and processes to achieve maximum cost savings for the company.

Responsibilities
• Manage a large team of analysts or smaller teams of managers in goal setting, rewards and recognition establishment, performance reviews, coaching sessions, and career development with both internal and external training.
• Drive team success in identifying erroneous charges on invoices compared to applicable contracts, tariffs, or orders, and manage dispute resolution by negotiating and overseeing timely resolutions.
• Review and approve telecommunications invoices for appropriateness of charges, errors, omissions, and savings.
• Monitor, review, and improve the quality and timeliness of the invoice process function of the third-party utility bill payer.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
• Implement process improvements to maximize accuracies and efficiencies and collaborate with other departments to perform audits for identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction.
• Establish strong relationships and communications with cross-functional departments and field organizations.
• Manage relationships with providers.
• Select energy contracts and hedges to maximize cost-efficiency within acceptable risk levels.
• Review month-end financials and participate in meetings with Finance to discuss variances between budget and actual.
Essential Skills
• 7+ years of supply chain operations and procurement strategies within the telecom or energy/utilities industry.
• Experience in contract negotiation and dispute resolution.
• Strategic leadership experience.
• Proficiency in Ariba and Oracle.
• PMP certification.
• Experience in accounts payable and invoicing.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Engineering.
• 8 years of telecommunications experience including 5 years of network costing and invoice auditing experience and 5 years of utility costing and invoice auditing experience.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent professional business communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in an environment of multiple tasks, changing priorities, and unexpected changes.
• Understanding of wireless telecommunication practices with the ability to read and interpret contracts, tariffs, and agreements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable environment.
• Advanced knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Strong supervisory or management/leadership experience with the ability to transfer knowledge and best practices through mentoring, training, and practical examples to team members.
Work Environment

The position is located in Overland Park, KS, and follows a hybrid work schedule.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $145000.00 - $155000.00/yr.
