Job Description

Metro Supply Chain Holdings is seeking a Process Excellence Engineer in Lockbourne, OH. The role involves leading process improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. Responsibilities include analyzing processes, conducting assessments, developing improvement plans, and providing training. Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in Six Sigma projects and a relevant degree. This position is not remote.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Process Excellence Engineer to join our fun, transparent, and problem-solving team! You will be responsible in leading and supporting an array of analysis for process efficiencies, process quality and safety, in addition to measurements of profitability. Your position is highly influential and will interface with Metro employees at all levels and various functions across the business including working on primary verticals of Apparel for strong industry leading brands.

You know how to effectively utilize and coach lean, six sigma, engineering methodologies, tools, root cause analysis, and waste reduction in achieving process excellence and developing a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset across our organization.

Responsibilities:
• Identifies process gaps, analyze, recommends, and implements process improvement through effective facilitation and execution of projects using Project Management, Lean, and Six Sigma tools and methodologies
• Works with business and site leadership to conduct diagnostics and assessments of critical site and business needs. Assists in the development of a thorough, effective, and timely CI plan to address the top business needs at sites.
• Works with front-line team members and process owners in identifying process gaps and improvement opportunities
• Drive process improvement projects to achieve dramatic improvement in the key business metrics of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Develop labor standards by analyzing work samples, workflow, methods of production, and operator techniques; assessing the techniques, staffing, and equipment utilized to determine production rates and capacities.
• Provide formal and informal training, coaching, mentoring to Metro site leadership and associates
• Must be able to translate concepts to local situations and help individuals and team progress in understanding and applying correct problem-solving methods for sustainable business improvements
• Lead and supports continuous improvement projects using fundamentals of lean that lead to improved business results; perform audit compliance to lead plans to prevent from backsliding.
• Provide Project Management support during the implementation of CI projects/initiatives.
• Develop presentations, reports, post-mortem, project close-out
• Lead the gathering and statistical analysis of data to support the business make an informed decision.
• Design and develop complex/automated data reporting and dashboard
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• 3+ years’ experience in leading Six Sigma projects in Supply Chain & Logistics
• Degree in Industrial Engineering or similar or Supply Chain Management
• Warehouse Engineering knowledge (proficiency with slotting, labor standards - time studies, DC layouts and optimization flow, KPIs/metrics, headcount rationalization and forecasting)
• Proven understanding of cycle time reduction, waste reduction, yield improvement productivity, and throughput improvement
• Experience in advanced automation from a manufacturing perspective preferred
• Lean and/or Six Sigma certified with hands-on experience using expert level command of lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies
• Proven facilitation, negotiation, and influential skills and entrepreneurial approach
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
• Builds and manage effective project team
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Flexible and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
• Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
• PMP Certification preferred but not required
• Software expert (MS office, Smartsheets, Visio, Mapping analysis, AutoCAD, etc.)
• Expert in statistics and SQL database, etc.
• Ability to travel

Work Environment
• Fast-paced warehouse and production environment
• Some travel required, local and cross border US Citizenship is important due to travel requirements
