Job Description

Form Energy is seeking a Process Engineer for MES Systems in Weirton, WV. The role involves integrating Manufacturing Execution Systems with other manufacturing systems, ensuring data flow and process automation. Responsibilities include implementing MES features, analyzing data for improvements, and providing technical support to operations staff. Role Description

As an Operations Systems Engineer focussed on MES integration, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Process Development, and Controls teams, to define, implement, and validate MES solutions. Your role will involve managing continuous improvement of MES systems based on feedback from operations teams, ensuring seamless integration between PLCs, SCADA systems, MES, and cloud databases such as Snowflake. You will play a critical role in optimizing operational efficiency, system functionality, and data integrity across the production environment.

This role will be located at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV, which is just a short drive outside of Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do:
• Support the integration of MES solutions with manufacturing systems such as ERP, SCADA, PLCs and cloud database storage ensuring seamless data flow and process automation
• Oversee the implementation of new MES features and enhancements, coordinating with operations staff to ensure smooth adoption.
• Analyze MES data and workflows to identify areas for improvement and work with the MES team and data platform team to implement optimizations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to operations staff on MES and data related issues and functionalities
• Participate in regular reviews and feedback sessions with the operations team and the MES team to drive ongoing enhancements.
• Utilize data from MES, SCADA and cloud databases to generate reports and provide insights for decision making
• Own and maintain all production dashboard and KPIs required for daily operations
• Deep dive into process data to discover correlations and trends, providing statistical analysis to improve production line KPIs.
• Work lineside to validate MES/ERP systems, ensuring data integrity from the process to storage in databases, and documenting the full data cycle from collection to utilization.
• Continuously seek ways to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting processes, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and manufacturing processes.

What you'll bring:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in system validation, integration, and continuous improvement
• Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools and technical documentation
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and operations
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis tools.
• Good understanding of Software development lifecycle
• Experience in data analysis, statistical analysis, and process optimization.
• Understanding of MES/ERP systems and their validation process.
• Hands-on experience with production line data collection and analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with programming languages used in MES, data integration and analysis (e.g., SQL, Python).
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and digital transformation in manufacturing.
