Principal Lawyer - Planning & Highways

LAW Absolute is seeking a Principal Lawyer - Planning & Highways for a Local Authority in Bedfordshire, UK. The role involves leading a team to provide legal advice on planning and highways matters. Candidates must be qualified solicitors or barristers with at least 3 years' PQE and prior local government experience. The position is full-time with a hybrid office requirement of 2 days per week, offering a salary between £60,600 and £75,200.
LAW Absolute is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority based in Bedfordshire, for an experienced planning lawyer to take on a Principal Lawyer role on a full-time permanent basis.

You will lead a team of lawyers in providing innovative and pragmatic legal advice in respect of planning, development and highways matters to a range of public sector clients.

Previous UK local government is an essential requirement.

To apply you will be:
• An England and Wales qualified solicitor, barrister or chartered legal executive with minimum 3 years’ PQE Able to demonstrate previous experience handling a complex caseload of planning matters in a local government environment Able to demonstrate previous experience leading a team of planning lawyers in a local government environment Able to attend the office in Bedfordshire on a hybrid basis of 2 days per week
• The salary for this role is £60,600 - £75,200 per annum, dependent on experience.
