Job Description

LVI Associates seeks a Principal Environmental Planner in California to lead environmental planning projects. The role requires expertise in CEQA, project management, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include conducting impact assessments, developing policies, and mentoring junior staff. Candidates should have a relevant degree and extensive experience. The position offers a hybrid/flexible work schedule with a salary range of $150K–200K per year.
My client is looking to bring on a Principal Environmental Planner to lead our environmental planning team in California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental planning, project management, and regulatory compliance, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex environmental projects, particularly under CEQA, and winning new work.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage environmental planning projects from inception to completion.Develop and implement environmental policies and strategies.Conduct environmental impact assessments and prepare comprehensive reports, ensuring compliance with CEQA.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, and regulatory agencies.Provide expert guidance on environmental planning and sustainability practices.Engage with stakeholders, including community groups, to address environmental concerns.Mentor and develop junior staff members.Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field.Extensive experience in environmental planning and project management.In-depth knowledge of CEQA and other environmental regulations and compliance requirements.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.Experience with stakeholder engagement and public consultation processes.Benefits:Opportunity to lead and develop a CEQA PracticeEmployee-owned firm with work internationallyStrong total compensation packageHybrid/flexible work schedule
