This position supports contaminated land projects as a technical lead, contributing to project delivery, client engagement, and team development. The role involves guiding investigations, managing risk assessments, and ensuring projects meet environmental and safety standards while supporting collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
• Act as technical authority on land quality projects, guiding investigations, risk assessments, and remediation strategies
• Plan and deliver projects within budget and schedule, including resource allocation and coordination
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders
• Provide clear updates on project progress, risks, and solutions
• Ensure compliance with UK environmental legislation and contaminated land best practices
• Support and mentor junior staff through technical guidance and feedback
• Foster knowledge sharing and professional development within the team
• Contribute to proposals and bids to expand land quality services
• Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and business growth

Minimum Requirements
• Demonstrated experience in contaminated land investigation and remediation
• Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methodologies
• Familiarity with UK environmental legislation including Environmental Protection Act and permitting regulations
• Experience applying CL:AIRE Definition of Waste Code of Practice
• Proven ability to deliver medium-sized projects including budgeting and scheduling
• Degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Engineering, or related discipline
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
• Willingness to travel across the United Kingdom and hold a valid driving licence

Preferred Qualifications
• Postgraduate degree such as MSc or higher
• Progress toward or attainment of chartership (e.g., CGeol, CEnv)
• Specialist in Land Condition accreditation
• Experience applying Environment Agency Remedial Targets Methodology
