Job Description
Intercontra Initiatives Limited is seeking a Power Project Manager in Lagos, Nigeria. The role involves designing and implementing power systems for telecom sites, ensuring 24/7 power availability, optimizing energy consumption, and managing vendors. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power Engineering and 1–5 years of relevant experience. The position is full-time with a salary range of ₦250,000 to ₦350,000 per month.
Power System Design & ImplementationDesign AC/DC power systems for telecom BTS sites, MSCs, and data centers. Size and configure rectifiers, batteries, inverters, UPS systems, and generators.Prepare technical drawings, load calculations, and power distribution layouts.Oversee installation and commissioning of power equipment.Operations & MaintenanceEnsure 24/7 power availability for telecom sites.Monitor performance of DG sets, solar systems, batteries, and hybrid power solutions.Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance.Troubleshoot power failures and implement corrective actions.Energy OptimizationOptimize fuel consumption and reduce energy costs.Implement energy-efficient and renewable solutions (solar hybrid systems).Monitor KPIs such as energy efficiency ratio and uptime performance.Vendor & Site ManagementSupervise contractors and vendors.Coordinate with suppliers such as Cummins, for power equipment.Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.Approve technical reports and service documentation.Safety & ComplianceEnsure adherence to electrical safety standards and grounding requirements.Maintain proper earthing and lightning protection systems.
Conduct site audits and risk assessments.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
1–5 years of experience in telecom power systems or related industry.Strong knowledge of AC/DC systems, rectifiers, UPS, batteries (VRLA/Lithium), and DG systems.Experience with solar hybrid telecom power solutions (preferred).Proficiency in load analysis and power system calculations.Knowledge of safety standards and electrical codes.
