About the position

The Postdoctoral Scholar position at UC Merced focuses on researching the impacts of climate change on conifer reproduction. Responsibilities
• Assist with collection of cone count and seed trap data from various locations in California and beyond.

• Mentor undergraduate research assistants during fieldwork.

• Analyze tree fecundity and seedling data using the Mastif framework to explore relationships between seed production and regeneration.

• Collaborate with UC Davis team members to enhance a web-based tool for sharing fecundity predictions with forest managers.

• Participate in meetings with research teams and stakeholders to discuss findings and strategies.

• Take an active role in manuscript preparation, with at least one manuscript being the primary responsibility of the postdoc as first author.

• Present research findings at a professional meeting and propose independent analyses that align with personal research interests.

Requirements
• PhD in biology, ecology, mathematical modeling, or a related discipline.
