Job Description
The Cmcc Foundation is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Satellite Remote Sensing to support the GOCO Division by analyzing satellite observations of estuaries and river plumes. Responsibilities include monitoring temperature and salinity, developing innovative retrieval methods, and integrating data with modeling results. Candidates should have a Master's or PhD in related sciences, experience with geospatial data processing, and programming skills. The position is based in Lecce, Italy.

Job Requirements:
The researcher will support the GOCO Division with satellite observations of estuaries and river plumes, exploiting innovative methods to retrieve river mouth salinity, and developing tools integrating them with in situ observations and modeling results at estuarine and plume scales.
Responsibilities:
• Satellite observations of estuaries and river plumes with a focus on monitoring temperature and salinity close to the river mouths
• Exploiting innovative methods to retrieve river mouth salinity
• Developing tools integrating them with in situ observations and modeling results at estuarine and plume scales
Additional Requirements:
• Master degree and/or PhD or equivalent experience in Ecosystem and Environment related sciences
• Knowledge of (geo)statistics and geospatial/remote sensing data processing software and tools, including GIS and SNAP
• Experience on elaborating optical EO data and derived products for studying coastal/estuarine transitional systems
• Skills on information technology-based tools and common programming languages (e.g. R, Python, IDL) to deal with huge amounts of data
• A good knowledge of English language
