About The Role

enfinium is leading the way in sustainable energy, and we're excited to introduce Kelvin, our latest state-of-the-art Energy-from-Waste (EfW) facility in West Bromwich. Set to be fully operational in 2026, Kelvin will process up to 395,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste annually, generating up to 44MW of electricity—enough to power 95,000 UK homes while reducing landfill reliance and supporting a circular economy.

What You’ll Be Doing
• As a Plant Operator, you will:
• Operate and monitor plant equipment to ensure maximum safety, compliance, and efficiency.
• Work in a high-tech Central Control Room, using DCS monitoring systems to maintain plant reliability.
• Assist in plant operations to meet environmental and contractual standards.
• Act as an Authorised Person (AP), supporting the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) with safety and operational duties, including permit-to-work (PTW), lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), and safe systems of work (SSOW).
• Conduct boiler, superheater, and economiser cleaning to maintain peak performance.
• Perform water quality testing and adjust chemical dosing for optimal plant operations.

This role follows a rotating shift pattern, covering days, weekends, and bank holidays to support Kelvin’s 24/7 operation.

What We’re Looking For
• Qualifications: NVQ Level 4 / ONC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience: Previous experience in a power plant, energy-from-waste, or waste management environment with control room operations expertise.
• Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Attitude: A proactive mindset with a commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
