Job Description

Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy, LLC is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee daily operations, enhance efficiency, and promote a culture of accountability. The role involves collaboration with department heads to meet production goals, recommend equipment purchases, and drive continuous improvement. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in engineering, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. The position is based in Council Bluffs, IA.
Description:

Summary

Manage daily operations activities through a team of managers and supervisors to ensure increasing levels of efficiency, production and organization at Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• In collaboration with department managers, optimize team structure, define roles/responsibilities, and create a culture of accountability.
• Monitor key performance indicators and schedule corrective actions to meet production, efficiency and quality goals.
• In collaboration with Director of Operations, recommend purchases of new equipment and improvements to plant property.
• In collaboration with the Engineering Manager, coordinate continuous improvement projects as needed.
• Keep up-to-date on strategy and technology affecting business to drive innovation and ensure compliance.
• Gather details to thoughtfully contribute to improvement exercises such as, but not limited to, root cause analyses, process hazard assessments, and management of change.

Requirements:

Qualifications
• Ability to use technology tools to drive objective, data-driven decision making.
• Exceptional people and communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• A passion to drive for results.
• A devotion to performing work safely.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline required. MBA or advanced degree a plus.
• 5 years or more of plant operations and/or management experience.
• General proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other applicable computer software packages, as needed.
• Thorough knowledge of ethanol production, industrial bioprocessing, petrochemical, agro-industrial, heavy industry or other related experience.
• Knowledge of DCS instrumentation or electrical background preferred.

• Walking, Standing

Working Environment
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to:
• Work near moving mechanical parts.
• Dusty conditions.
• High noise environments.
