Planner V (General City/Urban Planning) (SR-24)

Overview:
The Planner V (General City/Urban Planning) is responsible for developing and updating long-range regional plans and special area plans, monitoring compliance with conditions of unilateral agreements, reviewing affordable housing projects, and conducting research and analysis related to city planning. The successful candidate will be a critical thinker with strong analytical and writing skills, and have a deep understanding of city planning principles, practices, and trends. Responsibilities:
• Develop and update long-range regional plans and special area plans
• Monitor compliance with conditions of unilateral agreements
• Review affordable housing projects for compliance with applicable requirements
• Conduct research and analysis related to city planning
• Assist with reviewing and drafting reports recommending action on proposals for zone change and zoning district boundary adjustment
• Respond to inquiries and perform other related duties as assigned
• *Qualifications:**
• Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university with major work in city planning, architecture, engineering, economics, sociology, public administration, or a related field
• Four years of professional (post-bachelor's degree, non-clerical) experience in architecture, engineering, or socio-economic research, including or supplemented by two years of professional work experience in city planning or related planning activities
• Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license, as required
