DESCRIPTION OF POSITION'S ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Westmoreland Rosebud Mining LLC, a surface coal mine in Colstrip, MT is seeking a Permit Coordinator. The Permit Coordinator works under the general direction of the Environmental Manager.

Responsibilities will include preparing & submitting permit documents required for mining operations. This includes mining permits, renewals, amendments and minor revisions. Coordinating responses for DEQ comments on permit documents, preparing and submitting annual mining reports to the various regulatory authorities. Coordinating bond calculations for all mining areas, reviewing and submitting bond release applications. Act as primary contact with Montana DEQ. Keeping state and federal exploration permits and bond current and monitoring changes in regulations and legislation.

A BS in Engineering or Science, general knowledge of Montana and Federal regulations, computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and AutoCAD are required. Must be able to communicate effectively with the public and regulatory agencies, both verbally and written.
