This permanent, full-time role involves maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems for the North Queensland Gas Pipeline. Gas Pipeline Technician (Electrical + Instrumentation)

We are seeking a skilled Gas Pipeline Technician (Electrical + Instrumentation) to join our team in Townsville, where you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and effective execution of work on the North Queensland Gas Pipeline.

This is a permanent Monday to Thursday (38 hours per week) role with a rotational on-call component. We are looking for someone who resides locally to Townsville or surrounding area.
Job Description

As a Gas Pipeline Technician (Electrical + Instrumentation), you will be responsible for:
• Maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Maintaining hazardous area dossiers.
• Updating and repairing control systems.
• Performing fiscal and non-fiscal calibrations on transmitters and metering validations.
• Maintaining and gathering readings from cathodic protection systems.
• Managing E&L maintenance documentation and electronic records.
• Repairing and troubleshooting PLC Programming equipment.
• Managing stock levels of E&I spare parts.
• Performing regular pipeline patrols.
• Liaising with landholders, stakeholders, and public authorities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
• An Electrical license and trade qualification.
• A valid driver's license.
• Cert III in instrumentation and control.
• Cert IV Hazardous areas – Electrical.
• NACE CP tester accreditation.
• Type B Gas appliance - Service, commission, and install or willingness to obtain competency.
• Experience working on or around underground assets.
• High pressure gas experience.
• Forklift HRWL.
• Work experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance in Chemical Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, or Mineral Processing environments.
