Job Description

Miller Waste System is hiring a permanent full-time Equipment Operator for their Pickering compost facility. Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring efficient processing of materials. Candidates should have experience with heavy equipment, basic computer skills, and familiarity with health and safety regulations. Equipment Operator – Pickering Compost

Location: 1280 Squires Beach Road, Pickering, Ontario L1W 3Z5

Position Type: Permanent Full-Time

Reporting: Site Supervisor

Hours: Monday to Friday, Saturdays as required

Hourly Rate of Pay: $22.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

In the position of Equipment Operator, your requirements will include but are not limited to:
• Adhering to Miller Waste System safety protocols.
• Operating the Excavator, Front-end loader, and various composting equipment.
• Responsible for the timely & efficient processing of materials daily.
• Working in cooperation with other equipment operators, staff, and customers to ensure site safety and client service is delivered in an effective and efficient manner.
• Cleaning to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• Preference will be given to individuals who have received training in loader / heavy equipment operation.
• Must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Must have Heavy Equipment/Excavator operational experience.
• Previous production line experience is an asset as well as having a mechanical aptitude and knowledge of loader pre-operative checks.
• Basic computer skills.
• You may be required to work alternate shifts for training purposes, extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
• The staff are required to cover Saturdays on a rotating basis from April 1 - November 30.
