About the position
The Sustainability Manager at Skanska plays a crucial role in the Sustainability team, focusing on delivering sustainable projects and achieving certification goals such as LEED, WELL, Envision, and the Living Building Challenge. This part-time position (approximately 16 hours/week) involves collaboration with project teams to track and document sustainability efforts, assist in community involvement, and lead carbon data collection and reporting to meet milestone reduction goals. The role also includes training and supporting junior sustainability personnel, with the potential to transition to full-time as workloads increase.
Responsibilities
• Work alongside project teams to track and document sustainability goals for certification.

• Assist employees with professional accreditation across various sustainability rating systems.
,
• Lead regional collection and reporting of carbon data to meet reduction goals for 2030 and 2045.

• Coach Sustainability Engineers and project teams on carbon reduction tactics.
,
• Participate in training and research for the Sustainability team.
,
• Train and assist junior sustainability personnel in their roles.
Requirements
• Knowledge of sustainability, building science, and integrated design.

• Understanding of sustainable building strategies and certification processes.

• Experience in carbon accounting and reporting.
,
• Familiarity with sustainable building best practices in the construction industry.

• Accreditation in at least one sustainable building certification program (LEED, WELL, LBC, Envision).

• 5+ years of experience in sustainability consulting, construction, architecture, or engineering preferred.

• Experience in social equity/environmental justice and responsible sourcing preferred.
,
• Experience managing at least 10 sustainable building certification projects.
,
• Skilled in team support, collaboration, and meeting deadlines.

• Experience in public speaking and business development.

• Experience in developing and delivering training materials.

• Experience with sustainability KPI data gathering and goal-setting.

• Experience in organizing charitable data collection and collaborative planning.
