To support this mission, the Partnership Officer in Bangladesh will play a crucial role in developing and implementing partnership and resource mobilization strategies, creating concept notes and funding proposals, and conducting donor intelligence to secure additional resources from the Government donors, private sector, international financial institutions, and others. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Partnerships Strengthening • Identify, develop and strengthen quality partnerships in support of WFP strategic objectives. • Develop a private sector strategy in Bangladeshi context and take lead in outreach and establishment of local private sector partnerships. • Proactively contribute to a partnerships portfolio, including partner profiling, data/trends analysis and outreach activities, with the aim to maximize resources and leverage policy and technical support for WFP’s work. • Gather and share partner intelligence (including forecasting), using key information systems (e.g. Salesforce, WINGS, WFPGo). • In the context of the UN system and multilateral fora, support the development of partnerships and joint events with member states, civil society and intergovernmental organizations to advocate for the SDGs and Zero Hunger on the global agenda and advance WFP priorities and objectives, based on a basic understanding of member states’ dynamics and interests. • Contribute to the preparation of strategic agreements, joint strategies and MOUs in order to promote the SDGs and Zero Hunger on the national, regional and global agenda and to reach advantageous outcomes for WFP. • Provide inputs to partnerships strategies, including the development of Partnership Action Plans. Resource Mobilization • Outreach to local private sector companies to pitch WFP Bangladesh’s activities to mobilize resources and/or establish strategic partnerships • Draft high-quality concept notes and proposals to government donors, private sector partners, and international financial institutions. • Use data to propose options to managers to expand support from existing partners and to scope new partners, guided by programmatic assessment and context-specific analysis, with the aim to enhance the impact of WFP’s work and diversify the resource base. • In coordination with the Programme unit and other relevant units, draft quality briefs and advocacy notes to mobilize resources to support WFP operations. Communications and Reporting • Ensure partner visibility and that partner conditions are met. • Support Communications unit in preparing weekly updates, media messages, fact sheets, and newsletters. • Represent WFP at meetings, conferences, and other events as required to promote zero hunger. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Education: Completion of Advanced University Degree (Masters or equivalent) in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, International Relation, Development Studies or any relevant subject. Experience: At least 5 years of experience including 3 years of professional (Managerial) work experience in Partnership or any related experience. Language: Fluency in spoken and written both in English and Bangla language.
